For two years now Jennifer’s parents have been spreading the news  : their little daughter will go to England  to learn English. The course will be for six weeks in a small town in the north of London.

Jennifer won’t be alone. The idea has had a great resonance in our neighbourhood. All the parents heard about it. A businessman came as a special envoy from Madrid to explain the details  of the trip.  Jennifer will travel together with all her little friends from school and ballet, about 30 kids altogether, all going to the same place.

The results will be  zero.  Jennifer and all her little friends will speak Spanish in England the same as at home. Besides, if  she did pick up something, it will be forgotten as soon as she is back home.

The idea was right, but the timing was wrong.
